  • Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and campus facilities personnel throughout all project phases.
  • Review and manage MEP drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and construction documents to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, institutional standards, energy regulations, life safety requirements, and sustainability goals.

  • Provide technical leadership during value engineering, constructability reviews, and design development processes.
  • Oversee procurement and delivery of critical and long-lead MEP equipment and infrastructure components.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, startup, and turnover activities to ensure systems perform as designed.
  • Partner with Facilities Management, Capital Projects, Administration, Faculty, and Department Leadership to align project objectives with institutional priorities.
  • Support campus energy efficiency, resiliency, deferred maintenance, and long-term asset management initiatives.
  • Lead project closeout efforts, including as-built documentation, training, O&M manuals, warranties, and transition to campus operations teams.
  • Mentor junior project managers and provide guidance on MEP best practices, project controls, and technical issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience managing MEP scopes for higher education, institutional, healthcare, public-sector, or large commercial construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex renovation, infrastructure, and occupied-facility projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building automation, controls, and life safety systems.
  • Experience with commissioning, energy-efficient building systems, sustainability initiatives, and campus infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar project management software.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), PMP, CCM, or LEED accreditation is a plus.
